The Simple Woman's Daybook

I came across The Simple Woman's Daybook while reading on of my favorite blogs, Beauty that Moves.  This simple journaling exercise speaks strongly to me this too busy summer...

Outside my window...the sunlight is filtering softly through the trees
I am thinking...oh so many things
I am thankful for...finding it easy to remain calm amidst life's storms.
From the kitchen...rather needs to happen soon
I am wearing...pjs
I am creating...more and more space for me
I am to take H to camp soon, then to continue caring for my body by exercising
I am reading...The French Gardener
I am hold onto this grounded calm feeling
I am hearing...birds outside my window and the sound of traffic
Around the house... manageable chaos
One of my favorite things...quiet mornings
A few plans for the rest of the week:playing with H more, more exercise!, workday tomorrow, "Lillie's Purple Plastic Purse on Saturday."
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...groundedness

OMG Yummy!

It feels like years since I've posted, but in reality only a few weeks. Life has been so very full, but more on that later.

I have a quick few minutes to share a really good recipe, if you can stand to turn on your oven. For me, this is a PMS remedy, and well worth heating up the house for, but if you're not so desperate, wait until it cools off a bit and then try it.

I'm getting some work done while Helena plays with a friend, and just wanted something sweet and chocolaty, but really couldn't devote a lot of time to it. So I googled chocolate chip cookie bars, and came up with this recipe from King Arthur Flour.

Fast, easy, and dangerously yummy. Okay, granted, in my current hormonal state a block of clay with some chocolate chips would be tasty to me, but in general I'm finicky about my deserts. And this recipe is a winner.

I'm vaguely catching up with some things and hope to be back soon to post some projects and other random thoughts. Until then, happy summer!
